Marie Lauff is an amateur photographer who has developed a unique and unconventional approach to photography. The Project
"Graphic Erosions"
The images that make up “Graphic Erosions” are born from the observation of urban surfaces marked by time and human intervention. Abandoned shop windows, graffiti, overlaid paint, torn stickers, and deteriorated materials become elements of a photographic exploration that straddles reality and abstraction.
The project focuses on seemingly insignificant details that, removed from their original context, take on a new visual identity. Colors, textures, and marks transform into autonomous compositions, often reminiscent of abstract painting.
Through the square format, each image captures a fragment of the city and transforms it into a space for contemplation. The goal is not to document a specific place, but to reveal the beauty hidden in the transformations that time wreaks on matter.
The photographed surfaces tell a story of stratifications, erasures, and superimpositions. Each trace represents the passage of unknown people who have left a mark destined to change further. In this sense, the absence of human figures makes their presence even more evident.
With this series, Marie Lauff invites the viewer to slow down and look beyond the surface of things. What is normally perceived as degradation or simple wear and tear is instead revealed as a form of ever-evolving visual memory.
Erosions Graphiques is a reflection on time, transformation, and photography’s ability to find meaning and poetry in the most unexpected details of the contemporary landscape.

The Project
“Flower Market”
In this photographic series, the cold, gray stone architecture of Paris enters into dialogue with the sensuality of forms and the chromatic delicacy of flowers. Created in the historic Marché aux Fleurs on the Île de la Cité, the project captures an unexpected encounter between opposing worlds.
Through a play of striking reflections, the rigidity of stone and the fragility of petals merge, giving rise to dreamlike images rich in contrast. The photographs transfigure urban reality into a suspended vision, where the warmth of floral colors breaks the coldness of the mineral landscape, inviting the viewer to rediscover the heart of Paris under a new and vibrant light.

“Urban Decay”
Art is all around us, wherever we are. In these photographs, the artist succeeds in extracting abstract paintings from simple wall posters worn away by time. Through very tight framing, even urban decay can become a wonderful aesthetic painting of forms and colors.

Ich habe die Einweihung live auf Facebook verfolgt: Es war fantastisch! Ich hoffe wirklich, bei den nächsten Pixel Photo Magazine-Events dabei sein zu können.
V marci 2025 som sa zúčastnila medzinárodnej výstavy v rámci projektu VISIO MENTIS, ktorú zorganizoval Macello Pitardi a Pixel Phtoto Magazine. Moja osobná účasť na vernisáži tejto výstavy bola pre mňa úžasným zážitkom a povzbudením v mojej fotografickej práci. Výstava, ktorá trvala týždeň mala veľký ohlas medzi obyvateľmi mesta Catanzaro nie len vďaka vystaveným prácam fotografov, ktorí sa na nej zúčastnili, ale aj vďaka jej príprave organizácii. Z toho dôvodu som sa rozhodla byť jednou z vystavovateľov mojich fotografií v tom istom meste v marci 2026. Nebola som prítomná na jej otvorení, ale vďaka Marcellovej práci som mala možnosť byť na nej prítomná on line a počas celej výstavy som mala možnosť sledovať, ako návštevníci vnímajú vystavené fotografie – moje aj mojich kolegov. Oceňujem tento Marcellov prístup k jeho práci, to, že našiel spôsob, ako sprístupniť zážitok z výstavy aj tým, ktorí sa vernisáže a samotnej výstavy nemohli zúčastniť. Dôležitým pokračovaním výstavy v Catanzare bola výstava vybraných fotografií v Mantove v krásnom historickom objekte Pescherie Giulio Romano v apríli 2026. Na vernisáži tejto výstavy som bola osobne. Tentokrát boli naše fotografie vystavené tak, aby si ich mohol užiť každý, kto išiel okolo, pretože boli inštalované v otvorenom priestore, kde sa mohol každý zastaviť kedykoľvek. Nepotreboval si naplánovať čas, len išiel okolo a zastavil sa. Vďaka tomu bolo milé vidieť, koľko ľudí má záujem o fotografiu ako takú a koľko fotografií a selfie s našimi fotografiami vzniká. Pre fotografa nie je dôležité len to, aké fotografie vystavuje, ale aj to, v akom prostredí sú vystavené. Človeka vždy poteší, keď svojou prácou prispieva dobrej a užitočnej práci niekoho iného. V prípade výstavy v Mantove to bola Fondazione Le Pescherie di Giulio Romano. Potešilo ma osobné stretnutie s jej prezidentom Paolom Corbellanim, ktorý nám ukázal historický objekt Pescherie Giulio Romano. Veľmi ma potešilo, že sa moje fotografie dostali na také krásne a významné miesto. Prítomnosť miestnych médií bola pre nás bonusom. Okrem propagácie fotografií vo výstavných sieňach a médiách, výsledkom spolupráce s Marcellom Pitardim a Pixel Photo Magazine sú aj milé a inšpiratívne stretnutia s ľuďmi, ktorých by som za iných okolností nestretla.

J’ai été ravi de participer à cette exposition et je tiens à remercier chaleureusement Marcello Pitardi pour son invitation. Le choix des photographies a été réalisé avec beaucoup de soin et de professionnalisme, en étroite collaboration avec lui. N’ayant pas pu me déplacer, l’ensemble des démarches et de l’organisation a été pris en charge sans ma participation directe, ce qui témoigne de son sérieux et de son efficacité. Le règlement des frais d’impression des tableaux s’est révélé simple, rapide et transparent. Le book regroupant les participants est d’une grande qualité et met parfaitement en valeur les œuvres exposées. L’envoi des tableaux à mon adresse postale s’est déroulé sans le moindre problème, avec un emballage particulièrement soigné. Je remercie sincèrement Marcello pour son enthousiasme, sa patience, ses compétences et ses remarquables qualités d’organisateur. Merci pour tout et au plaisir de renouveler cette belle expérience !
Sono rimasta entusiasta dell’esposizione presso l’Ex Stac di Catanzaro. Devo dire che la disposizione delle foto e la location sono veramente notevoli. E io ho scoperto molti fotografi che fanno cose molto interessanti. Mi dispiace per chi se la perde per ignoranza e senso di superiorità. Grazie a Marcello Pitardi e a tutto il team per l’impegno messo per la buona riuscita dell’evento.

La mostra Visio Mentis a Tropea è stata davvero splendida: allestimento curato nei dettagli, fotografie di grande impatto e un’organizzazione estremamente professionale. Complimenti a Marcello per l’ottimo lavoro svolto e per aver reso l’esperienza così coinvolgente e di alto livello.
Quando vedi le tue foto stampate, grandi, luminose, esposte in una mostra internazionale, le senti come se vivessero indipendentemente da te. Non ho parole per descrivere l’emozione di vedere la reazione dei visitatori, il loro apprezzamento. E non posso che ringraziare Marcello Pitardi per aver ritenuto la mia storia degna di essere presente qui. Io spero solo di suscitare un po’ delle emozioni vissute. Il libro della mostra è un valore aggiunto che rende permanente la bellissima sensazione vissuta con l’esposizione! La presenza degli altri autori, la descrizione dei loro progetti, apre finestre di esperienze possibili e territori fotografici da esplorare. Un grande insegnamento collettivo!
En février dernier, une partie de mon regard s’est envolée vers l’Italie. À travers cette exposition, mes photographies ont poursuivi leur voyage, portant avec elles un peu de lumière, d’émotion et de poésie. J’aime l’idée que chaque œuvre trouve son propre chemin et rencontre des regards que je ne croiserai peut-être jamais. L’art est un langage universel. Il traverse les frontières comme le vent traverse les paysages. Merci à toutes les personnes qui ont participé à cette belle aventure et à celles qui ont accueilli nos créations avec curiosité et bienveillance. L’aventure continue.
