Welcome to Visio Mentis

Visio Mentis is an international photography project created with the goal of exploring the power of photography as a tool for social inclusion and cultural change. Created and curated by Marcello Pitardi, editor of Pixel Photo Magazine, Visio Mentis gives a voice to photographers from around the world, uniting different traditions, stories, and perspectives through visual art.

The first edition of the project took place in the summer of 2024 at the Museo Diocesano di Tropea, marking the beginning of an international touring exhibition. Visio Mentis is the natural extension of Pixel Photo Magazine, an online platform that has been dedicated to contemporary photography for years and has now evolved into a physical and conceptual exhibition space.

A Universal Language: Inclusion Through Photography

This is not just an exhibition, but a visual journey that brings together different realities and stories from various cultural, social, and geographical contexts. Each participating photographer presents their own project consisting of six photographs, each telling a unique story of life, beauty, challenges, and hope. The images become a universal language that goes beyond words, breaking down linguistic and cultural barriers to spark collective reflection on our world and the human condition.

Why Visio Mentis?

In a time when social and cultural divisions seem to be increasing, Visio Mentis seeks to offer a concrete response: to celebrate diversity, recognize inclusion as a fundamental value, and use photography to bring people together. Each image becomes a window into a different reality, an invitation to discover new perspectives, embrace the beauty of diversity, and reflect on the challenges that connect us all.

Visio Mentis is more than just an exhibition: it is a place for meeting, exchange, and growth, where visual art serves as a tool for social change and intercultural connection.
