Petr Škeřík hat schon immer eine tiefe Liebe zur Fotografie gepflegt, doch erst in den letzten zwei Jahren hat er sich entschieden, sich diesem faszinierenden Hobby vollständig zu widmen und es zu einem zentralen Bestandteil seines Lebens zu machen. Innerhalb der vielfältigen Welt der Fotografie ist die Street Photography seine bevorzugte Disziplin – ein Bereich, in dem er besondere Inspiration findet und durch den er seine Sicht auf die Welt zum Ausdruck bringt.

„Der flüchtige Augenblick“
Städte erzählen unaufhörlich ihre Geschichten. Jede Straße birgt tausende Gesten, die nur wenige Sekunden dauern: ein spielendes Kind, ein in Gedanken versunkener Passant, eine Gruppe junger Leute, eine Gestalt, die einen Platz überquert. Petr Škeřík beobachtet diesen ständigen Fluss des Lebens diskret und verwandelt die Straßenfotografie in eine Übung im visuellen Zuhören.
Für den tschechischen Fotografen ist die Straße kein Ort des Außergewöhnlichen, sondern der Authentizität. Keine Szene ist inszeniert oder wiederholt sich. Jedes Foto entsteht aus der unwiederholbaren Begegnung von Menschen, Architektur und Licht, in jenem präzisen Gleichgewicht, das nur einen Augenblick lang existiert. Die strenge Komposition und die Verwendung von Schwarz-Weiß lenken den Blick über die Nachrichten des Augenblicks hinaus und heben den stillen Dialog zwischen menschlicher Präsenz und den Räumen hervor, die sie durchquert.
Die Ausstellung „The Walking Moment“, präsentiert auf der Visio Mentis Tropea 2026, lädt Besucher ein, innezuhalten und den außergewöhnlichen Reichtum des Alltags neu zu entdecken. Anhand von sechs scheinbar einfachen Bildern zeigt Petr Škeřík, wie die Fotografie das bewahren kann, was die Zeit Augenblicke später auslöscht. Sie verwandelt das Alltägliche in Erinnerung und erinnert uns daran, dass jedes Fragment des urbanen Lebens einen einzigartigen Wert besitzt.

Kindheit … was ist Kindheit wirklich? Sie ist eine Lebensphase, die sich nur schwer definieren und eingrenzen lässt; jeder erlebt sie über einen unterschiedlich langen Zeitraum, und manche Glücklichen bleiben bis ins hohe Alter Kinder. Das Einzige, was sicher ist, ist ihr Anfang – jener Moment, in dem die Natur entscheidet, dass es Zeit ist, den Mutterleib zu verlassen. Von da an liegt es am Kind, allem zu begegnen: den ersten Empfindungen von Kälte und Wärme, der Entdeckung der Umgebung und seiner selbst. Das allein ist bereits viel für einen Menschen, und hinzu kommen die ersten Freundschaften, die ersten Kämpfe um Spielzeug …
Wie ist es möglich, auch nur einen kleinen Teil all dessen mit einer begrenzten Anzahl von Fotografien zu zeigen? Trotz dieser Schwierigkeit ist diese Bildserie ein Versuch, in diese Welt hineinzublicken und Erinnerungen wieder an die Oberfläche zu bringen. Ein besonderer Dank gilt Milan Lučan, der dazu beigetragen hat, diese Vision möglich zu machen.

This exhibition at Ex-Stac in Catanzaro, Italy was a wonderful experience, and I was truly honored to be invited to take part and share my work alongside so many talented artists. The show brings together a diverse range of photographic styles, making it a rich and inspiring collection. A huge thanks to Marcello Pitardi for the fantastic job he did organizing the exhibition—his vision and dedication brought everything together beautifully.
Anche questa volta Visio Mentis è riuscita ad emozionarmi. Parteciparvi è stata un’esperienza intensa e profondamente arricchente. Non si è trattato solo di esporre il mio lavoro, ma di entrare in relazione con un gruppo di artisti di grande spessore umano e creativo. Ogni confronto, ogni parola scambiata, ogni sguardo lanciato alle opere altrui è stato per me occasione di crescita e riflessione. La presenza di un pubblico tanto numeroso quanto attento ha reso tutto ancora più significativo. È raro incontrare così tanta partecipazione autentica, così tanto interesse reale per la fotografia come forma di espressione e racconto. Un ringraziamento particolare va a Marcello, ideatore e anima di questo progetto. Lo dico con assoluta sincerità: Visio Mentis esiste perché qualcuno ha avuto il coraggio di crederci, di investirci tempo, energie, cuore. Quel qualcuno è lui. E se oggi ci portiamo a casa qualcosa in più, è anche grazie alla sua visione.
I am very happy to be able to participate in the photography exhibition in Tropea – Italy, thank you very much to Marcello who has arranged everything. The exhibition went smoothly, and it was nice to see the videos during the exhibition. Marcello sent me photos of my exhibit to my country Indonesia and I was very happy to see it, as well as the catalogue book and barcodes as well. I hope to be able to participate in another photo exhibition. Thank you for your hard work so this photography exhibition can be done well.
The exhibition in March 2025 at Ex Stac in Catanzaro, which was the part of the Visio Mentis project, was an amazing event for me. The whole organizing team did a wonderful professional job in promoting photography as an art and photographers as the personalities. Seeing my own photos exhibited in the beautiful setting and having the opportunity to share my thoughts with other colleagues photographers and the audience was an unforgettable experience for me that I still enjoy for a long time after the exhibition is over. I am proud to have been a part of this project and at the same time it is an inspiration for me to continue searching for my own vizio mentis. Thank you very much for your support.

The exhibit at the Museo Diocesano in Tropea was a beautiful blend of history and contemporary vision. Each photographer brought their own style, ranging from street photography to nature and wildlife, creating a diverse yet harmonious collection.
The centuries-old setting added depth and reverence, making the images feel timeless and giving the exhibit a unique and lasting impact.

Ho accettato con grande entusiasmo l’invito a partecipare alla mostra VISIO MENTIS a Catanzaro, che rappresenta la mia prima esperienza in una mostra collettiva. Ho avuto il piacere di conoscere il curatore, Marcello Pitardi, grazie alla pagina Pixel Photo Magazine, e abbiamo instaurato un ottimo rapporto. Marcello è una persona precisa e pragmatica, che lavora con efficacia e determinazione. Inizialmente, temevo che la distanza da Bruxelles e i miei impegni lavorativi avrebbero reso difficile la mia partecipazione, ma tutto si è svolto senza problemi. Purtroppo, non ho potuto essere presente all’evento a causa della distanza e degli impegni, ma sono felice di sapere che la mostra ha avuto un ottimo successo e che le mie foto hanno potuto essere viste da decine di persone, condividendo con loro la mia visione della fotografia.
