Roberto Rampinelli’s story is not that of a simple amateur, but of a soul irrevocably captivated by the art of photography since childhood. Even as a child, he was enthralled and enchanted by watching photographers at work, witnessing an everyday magic: the way the “clicks” of their “magic boxes” transformed into realistic “drawings,” capable of stopping time and giving form to the ephemeral. Today, the unbreakable thread that runs through every one of his shots is humanity in its purest and most vibrant form. His lens does not simply frame subjects, but seeks to reveal the essence of the human being in all its manifestations: from the almost sacred dedication to work to the explosive passion for sport, from the sublime expression in art—with a particular, magnetic attraction for dance—to the profound spirituality inherent in religion. But it is in the simplest and seemingly insignificant moments of everyday life that his gaze becomes most acute and revealing, transforming men and women into authentic “human beings,” palpable in their rawest and most touching truth.

The Project
“The Pulsating Soul of Fez”
With this project, I tell the story of those who, seen and felt by me through my photographic lens, animate the incredible labyrinth of stone and tradition that is the Medina of Fez: a place where every human being is an expression of centuries of culture and artisanal knowledge. Through intimate portraits and scenes of everyday life, the series aims to reveal the humanity pulsating behind the touristic image of the Medina. As always, in this case too, photography aims to be a representation of myself, but it is also a tool for anthropological documentation not only of traditional crafts but also of gestures, expressions, and the atmosphere of a world that resists time. Each image is my tribute to the dignity of manual labor and the beauty of a culture that continues to live and breathe within the city’s historic walls, making it a living organism with a soul.

Sono rimasta entusiasta dell’esposizione presso l’Ex Stac di Catanzaro. Devo dire che la disposizione delle foto e la location sono veramente notevoli. E io ho scoperto molti fotografi che fanno cose molto interessanti. Mi dispiace per chi se la perde per ignoranza e senso di superiorità. Grazie a Marcello Pitardi e a tutto il team per l’impegno messo per la buona riuscita dell’evento.
Ho avuto l’opportunità di partecipare alla mostra Visio Mentis a Catanzaro, insieme ad altri fotografi provenienti da tutto il mondo. È stata una esperienza fantastica; in particolare esporre insieme ad artisti di così alto livello oltre ad essere una gratificazione ti spinge ad osservare i loro lavori, confrontarti con loro e migliorare la tecnica. Un grazie particolare a Marcello Pitardi per l’organizzazione perfetta e professionale, che si nota sin dai minimi dettagli. Parteciperò con grande entusiasmo alle prossime iniziative.
Aver avuto la possibilità di confrontarmi con artisti di caratura internazionale è stato uno dei momenti più significatativi della mia esperienza fotografica. La mostra dal respiro internazionale, ha raccolto le opere di 27 artisti Italiani ed esteri portando nello spazio espositivo di Palazzo ex-Stac un caleidoscopio di emozioni. Quello che mi ha colpito profondamente è stato il livello veramente alto delle opre in mostra. Ciascun artista ha sicuramente onorato la propria presenza e Marcello è stato impeccabile nell’organizzazione. Mi auguro che mostre di questo livello possano essere sempre più frequenti e che il pubblico possa apprezzarle sempre di più.
The exhibit at the Museo Diocesano in Tropea was a beautiful blend of history and contemporary vision. Each photographer brought their own style, ranging from street photography to nature and wildlife, creating a diverse yet harmonious collection.
The centuries-old setting added depth and reverence, making the images feel timeless and giving the exhibit a unique and lasting impact.
Enjoyed participating in the Visio Mentis photo exhibition. I was impressed by the professionalism of the organization. The location itself, but also the digital environment and the promotional material were of high quality and allure.
Anche questa volta Visio Mentis è riuscita ad emozionarmi. Parteciparvi è stata un’esperienza intensa e profondamente arricchente. Non si è trattato solo di esporre il mio lavoro, ma di entrare in relazione con un gruppo di artisti di grande spessore umano e creativo. Ogni confronto, ogni parola scambiata, ogni sguardo lanciato alle opere altrui è stato per me occasione di crescita e riflessione. La presenza di un pubblico tanto numeroso quanto attento ha reso tutto ancora più significativo. È raro incontrare così tanta partecipazione autentica, così tanto interesse reale per la fotografia come forma di espressione e racconto. Un ringraziamento particolare va a Marcello, ideatore e anima di questo progetto. Lo dico con assoluta sincerità: Visio Mentis esiste perché qualcuno ha avuto il coraggio di crederci, di investirci tempo, energie, cuore. Quel qualcuno è lui. E se oggi ci portiamo a casa qualcosa in più, è anche grazie alla sua visione.

I am very happy to be able to participate in the photography exhibition in Tropea – Italy, thank you very much to Marcello who has arranged everything. The exhibition went smoothly, and it was nice to see the videos during the exhibition. Marcello sent me photos of my exhibit to my country Indonesia and I was very happy to see it, as well as the catalogue book and barcodes as well. I hope to be able to participate in another photo exhibition. Thank you for your hard work so this photography exhibition can be done well.
